I’ve been a Bustelo fanatic for a great many years, having grown up almost across the street from their roasters in The Bronx. For my taste, nothing beats the flavour. But I moved away over the years (as did the roasters in The Bronx) and Bustelo hasn’t been all that easy to find in many markets. I took a chance here, ordered the 4-brick pack (the price can’t be beaten) thinking I’d probably get “old” product or the “soft bricks” that seem to have air in them.Neither happened! The coffee arrived perfectly packaged. As fresh as any high-end market offers. Prompt receipt. This item on my grocery list is “Done”! No more searching. I’m sold!

I had low expectations of this due to the price, but it’s actually really good for pre-ground dark coffee. I like the espresso grind, too. That increases surface area and permeability, so you can actually get a dark thick pot of coffee using a bit less than with a coarse grind. Bustelo actually has a “Supreme” version of this, which is arguably a little roastier and more complex, but it’s honestly hard to tell the difference with espresso-roast coffee anyway unless you’re très connoisseur (in which case you wouldn’t be buying discount coffee anyway).

Since I first tasted Cafe Bustelo about five years ago, I haven’t been able to drink any other coffee because it just doesn’t taste as good. This coffee has a full bodied, creamy taste, along with a good strong flavor. If you like the taste of coffee, you’ll know what I mean. I highly recommend this to anyone who really enjoys coffee-this is the best!

Best coffee on the planet. I’ve had coffee in all the best countries and I always prefer this one. Rich intense flavor without being bitter or pungent. Smooth intense flavor through and through. Every package is as good as the last/next. Consistently wonderful taste over the years. I’ve been drinking this coffee all my adult life and I expect that to continue.

I should legit be a brand ambassador for Cafe Bustelo, lol. Every one of my friends thanks me for introducing them to this amazing stuff. I add 2 spoonfuls of this to my Folgers prior to brewing, and it makes a world of difference. “Normal” coffee doesn’t even scratch the surface anymore, and the Bustelo really adds to the richness of my coffee. I would strongly advise you to eeeeease yourself on into this if you haven’t had it before, I tried to drink it straight right away and I needed to be scraped off the ceiling the first few days lol. Baby steps, for sure.

This is one of the best coffees I’ve ever had. As a barista and a coffee snob, I’ve spent way too much money on boutique coffee brands. This stuff is so good, I crave it. Believe people when they tell you that this coffee is the best.

We came upon this coffee at a little Cuban cafe in Key West and were thrilled when we found that we’re able to get it through Amazon. It has spoiled my husband who no longer can enjoy a cup of coffee when we’re away from home! He makes a cup every morning with his AeroPress (an amazing little gadget!) and couldn’t be happier! A great coffee- strong, not bitter!

If you want to make espresso coffee at home the only foolproof method I can recommend outside of a Nespresso machine (with its somewhat pricey prepacked pods) is using an old style inexpensive stovetop espresso maker with Cafe Bustelo – only!. Bustelo coffee will come out with a full rich taste – never scorched or bitter like most other brands. It works amazingly well with heated milk producing a somewhat mocha-like taste. Possibly the only other supermarket brand to come close is the Italian brand, Lavassa – but its way more expensive. No need to upgrade – this stuff is the perfect coffee for any espresso-based coffee drink you want to brew at home.

My doctor told me to get off of coffee because, you know, heart condition. But, oh how I love strong coffee! So my doctor and I had to have a little talk.Cafe Bustelo espresso roast has enough bite to get me going in the morning. I add just a touch of nondairy creamer to take some of the edge off. I don’t know how much caffeine this stuff packs, but I suspect it’s more than your average Folgers, Maxwell House, or other popular brand. As for value—you can’t get much better.Note that this coffee is finely ground. I use a #4 paper cone filter. If you try using a washable filter, you are going to be disappointed with the residue.I read that Cafe Bustelo is distributed through J.M Smucker, same as Folgers. That may unsettle those who want to know the environmental impact and such. For value and taste, though; you can’t really beat Cafe Bustelo.
