After years of drinking Dunkin Donuts coffee I thought I would branch out a bit and try some different brands. Since then, I have tried 6-7 different brands of coffee and various roasts levels (this being one of them) and liked this one the most. This is a smooth and fresh coffee with various levels of flavor, unlike my flat and generally several months old Dunkin Donuts coffee.I used this coffee with a V60 pour over and a standard drip coffee maker. It’s great either way, but if you want to get the most out of this coffee you really need pour over coffee maker. The roast level on the bag shows it’s somewhere between a medium and dark, though it’s sold as a medium roast. I would say that’s accurate.Give it a whirl if you want to try something different.

This coffee reviewer has high taste but is not an expert. Going from a medium-quality drip coffeemaker to a high end SCA rated one, I purchased this coffee as another step up from my usual fairly safe, bland blend.Decided to try it although my also step-up grinder hasn’t arrived, I used my old blade grinder. The new coffeemaker recommended coarse-medium grind, which works for my blade grinder. The coffee had a deep, full aroma coming out of the package, was NOT dry, and it processed beautifully. In my new coffeemaker, it turned into a delicious, high-end beverage of upper quality. I am sensitive to organic products, grow a good-sized garden, and this coffee brought a surprisingly exciting, basically barista-style taste to my kitchen. It stayed mellow but full when brewed, had a delightful dark color, and the aroma was superb. Next step? The largest size!

Flavor: By far one of my top tier favorites of the Kicking Horse brand. Three Sisters is a earthy, fresh, and tasteful blend of coffee. I believe most people would enjoy the flavor of these coffee beans.value for money: For me, coffee is a occassional thing. So, i think the price is debatable.Freshness: 100% fresh. Smelled amazing when opened.

I discovered this coffee when I needed to add an additional $10 worth of product to get a PrimeNow delivery, Ever since, it has been my favorite. I do insist on certified fair trade and organic, and this limits my coffee choices. I was thrilled to find one I love. After watching a special on those who make their living growing coffee, I became convinced that coffee is underpriced, but I am not willing to participate in causing any harm to those who work from sunrise to sunset to bring us a good product. Also, I have been told that coffee is one of the crops most highly penetrated with pesticides. I don’t know how true this is, but I am choosing organic products more and more, as I am finally beginning to be onvinced there is something to it.

I tried this coffee at a friend’s house while visiting from out of state, and liked it so much I wanted some at home. Luckily it’s super easy to order from Amazon. It’s a medium blend, but has lots of depth and deliciousness.

So, I usually don’t write reviews but I loved this coffee so much I just had too. I guess I should start by saying my review is for the Three Sisters Whole Bean coffee, and that I just started trying coffee other than Maxwell House so I’m not familiar with all the lingo, so please bear with me. The coffee has a pretty good aroma right out of the pack, but it wasn’t that amazing coffee shop smell I was hoping for, it kinda has a darker smell than i’m used to. (Not sure if this is the right way to explain it but it smells more roasted and smoky.) I also bought the Smart Ass whole bean coffee from Kicking Horse and it was much closer to the smell I was hoping for. Now the taste is really great, it’s not overly bitter, acidic or strong, and I guess it would be what you would consider a very smooth cup of coffee, also that smokiness you get from the smell of the coffee comes through in the taste as well and is honestly the part I loved most, also it isn’t overly nutty like some of the coffee that I have tried in the past.Anyway, that’s my review hopefully it wasn’t too hard to read through.

I actually ordered this as an afterthought, since is was one of the products which was recommended after I added  Valhalla Java Ground Coffee by Death Wish Coffee Company, USDA Certified Organic & Fair Trade (12 Ounce Bag)  to my cart. I’ve been on a bit of a dark roast kick and wanted something to switch it up.Now – what I don’t think Amazon is great at is telling you this isn’t actually a medium roast. This is a blend of dark, medium, and light roasts. It was a surprise, but not an unpleasant one. It smelled amazing as soon as the bag opened. The beans are clearly roasted differently, which is off-putting if you are expecting medium and end up with a medley.Grinding – well, I have a little Kitchen-Aid electric grinder and, while they don’t look as oily as some other beans I’ve ground, they are super oily and getting the grounds out and then cleaning the grinder would be extremely bothersome if I didn’t absolutely love the flavor. It’s bitter and doesn’t have a whole lot of the sophisticated flavors I hear true snobs prattle on about. It does have a slight burnt taste, but with way less of a punch you in the face effect than Starbucks house blend has. I don’t think this would be my preferred coffee if I had to drink it black, but it blends really, really well with a touch of vanilla or sweet cream flavored creamer.
